Jerry L. Eddlemon, 73, of Plant City, Florida, was born in Dyer on August 3, 1947, and entered into his eternal rest on January 21, 2021. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Plant City, where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher. He grew up in Alamo, where he excelled in athletics, especially football at Alamo High School. He graduated from Union University, with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity where he served as President in 1969-70. He retired as a lab tech from CF Industries. He enjoyed football and soccer.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Quick Eddlemon, his mother, Mary Helen Eddlemon, of Alamo, a sister-in-law, Jerry Ann Bracken; a niece, Christina Susann Bracken; and nephew, Joseph Gerald Scarborough (Andy). He also leaves behind two very special Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity brothers to cherish his memory: William E. (Bill) Greer (Ouida), of Franklin, and Dr. Gary “Newt” Williams (Dale) of Jackson. He was preceded in death by his father, Earnest Eddlemon, and a sister, Sarah Ann Eddlemon. A memorial service was held at First Baptist Church, Plant City, on January 26. Services are also being held on February 2, at Ronk Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Visitation will begin at 12 noon with memorial services beginning at 1 p.m. Following the memorial service, interment will be at the Alamo Cemetery.
