William (Buddy) Cowan, born July 14, 1937 to Alvin and Delmer Cowan, passed to his heavenly home on Sunday, November 1, 2020 after a short battle with cancer.   He married the love of his life Dotty Clem Cowan on Christmas Eve 1962.  They have one daughter Kim Cowan Wicker who with her husband Johnny has two sons, Will and Hayden, who live in Atoka.  Buddy was preceded in death by his parents and sister Helen Miller.    He has one surviving uncle Chester Lee who lives in Somerville.  He also leaves several nieces and nephews.

He leaves a great legacy and inspiration for other people to follow.  He was a loyal, compassionate and God-fearing man.   He was a faithful member of Alamo United Methodist Church where he will certainly be missed.  Buddy loved Chevrolets and worked for several Chevy dealerships in his career as a Master Mechanic.  He also enjoyed spending time doing word search puzzles after he retired.   He also enjoyed spending time with his wife and his grandsons when they had breaks from school.  He enjoyed watching his grandsons play baseball, soccer and basketball when they were younger.  He would come to see

them run their cars during their Pinewood Derby competitions.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 4, 2020 from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m.  His burial will be at Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Will Wicker, Hayden Wicker, Kim Kail, Keith Kail, David Whittemore, and Donnie Faulkner.   Milton Speer will be an honorary pallbearer.

The family requests that memorials be made to NOAH, The Cancer Society or to First United Methodist Church.
