On Tuesday, November 5, a crash on Highway 79 near the Belle Meade intersection shut down traffic passing both ways on the bridge.

The two-vehicle accident occurred around 10:15 a.m. when Hannah Mcgee, 24 of Bells, crossed the centerline in her 2018 Toyota Highlander hitting a 1992 brown GMC truck driven by Steve Stoots, 72 of Brownsville, along with his passenger.

Mcgee, Stoots and the unnamed passenger were all wearing there seatbelts and walked away with minor injuries.
