Mary Scott Tritt set out to beat her own personal record in her third State cross-country appearance on Saturday, November 2.

Tritt finished 32 in the state and was the second place finisher for West Tennessee. She beat her own personal record running 20:01 minutes. Tritt was also the first ever-female region cross-country champion.

“We can learn a lot from Mary Scott because running is not a short term commitment. She has trained for four years and now in her junior year, the early mornings, training in the rain, cold, and heat paid off. Great job! We recognize her commitment and accomplishment, and don’t forget her coach for her persistence and leadership. Great job Julie Crider,” said Director of Crockett County Schools, Phillip A. Pratt.
