A man is in custody after barricading himself in a building in Gadsden early Thursday morning, November 7.

Agents with the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call of assistance from the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency  (TWRA). An agent with the TWRA determined that the vehicle found at this location was reported stolen from Indiana.

Officers responded to the TWRA building on Humboldt Lake Road, where Carlos McCoy had barricaded himself inside.

Officers were able to apprehend McCoy and take him into custody without incident.

According to Crockett County Sheriff Troy Klyce, McCoy attempted to use an oxygen tank and gasoline as a booby trap while barricading himself in the building. Upon his apprehension, McCoy appeared to be under the influence of an undetermined substance.

McCoy has been charged with twelve counts aggravated assaulted, twelve counts of reckless endangerment, and one count of burglary.
