Jerry Laster entered his heavenly home from Jackson-Madison County General Hospital on April 17, 2022, at the age of 86 surrounded by his loving family.
A native of Crockett County, TN, he was born on February 26, 1936, the son of the late Roy and Ernestine McClaren Laster. He was married to Marcia Willodean Criss Laster, who preceded him in death in 2011. Jerry was a diligent worker and entrepreneur from an early age, purchasing his first service station at the age of seventeen. During his career he would own and operate a Texaco service station and later a Sinclair service station. Jerry later pursued other venues, including owning and operating a successful Backhoe and Dozer Service, all while farming cotton and soybeans.
He would light up a room with his contagious smile and laughter and always had plenty of hugs for anyone there. Jerry never met a stranger and would do what he could to help others in need. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. Jerry truly lived every day for the purpose of doing God’s work spreading joy and love everywhere he went.
