TBI assists in the death investigation of a local woman

Police are investigating the circumstances leading to the death of a Crockett County woman on Saturday, April 10.

The Crockett County Sheriff's Department, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Crockett County Ambulance Service and Crockett County Emergency Management Agency were on scene throughout the night and early morning at a residence in the 800 block of Dupree Road near Maury City.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has released this statement:

"At the request of 28th District Attorney General Frederick Agee, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation agents are working alongside the Crockett County Sheriff’s Office in investigating the circumstances leading to the death of a woman whose body was found Saturday evening at a home in the 800 block of Dupree Road…At this time, the investigation remains active and ongoing."
