Sylvia Marie Adams, 81, of the Fowlkes Community passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at TriStar Horizon Medical Center in Dickson, Tennessee.
Marie was born in Finley and raised in the Frog Jump Community of Crockett County. She was a retired nurse and a member of the Dyersburg Seventh-Day Adventist Church. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and caregiver. Marie felt honored to serve her patients at the Dyersburg Manor Nursing Facility until her retirement.
Services were held at 2 pm Saturday, April 23 at the Dyersburg Seventh-Day Adventist Church with Pastor Fred Fuller officiating. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
The family received visitors from 5-8pm on Friday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Survivors include two sons, Jeffrey Lee Adams and wife Suzette, of Columbia, TN and Rodney Scott Adams and wife Amy, of Dickson, TN, and three grandchildren, Colton Lee Adams, Jordan Sage Adams and Taylor Madison Adams.
Sylvia Marie Adams was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Lee Adams; her birth parents, William and Emma Phillips Carper; her adoptive parents from the age of 6 months, Avery Curtchel and Lillie Bell Johnson Butler; brothers, William Dwight Carper, Ernist Gene Carper, Henry Lee Carper, Thomas Carper, and sisters Margrette Elizabeth Carper, Sue Addie Carper, Mary Evelyn Burns, Maxine Powell and Nellie Louise Calvain.
Pallbearers were Brian Adams, Colton Adams, Todd Bennett Jr., David Burns, Grant Eison, and Tom Eison Jr.
