One dead and one injured in collision on Highway 412

A collision involving a tractor-trailer and front loader on Thursday, November 12 leaves one deceased and one injured.

The accident occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. near the new construction site in the westbound lane of travel across from McDonalds on Highway 412 in Bells.

The tractor-trailer was hauling corn that covered the eastbound roadway and traffic was closed in both directions for an extended period of time while emergency personnel worked to clear the road. By 3:30 p.m. a single lane of travel was formed each way in the eastbound lane.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was airlifted to the Med in Memphis with unknown injuries and the front loader operator succumbed to his injuries on scene.
