At approximately 2 a.m. on Tuesday, March 31, an alarm went off at the Tobacco Shack in Alamo alerting police.
While Sargent Barnie Robertson of the Alamo Police Department (APD) was responding to that call, he received notification that the alarm was going off across the street at Alamo BP.
Upon arrival at Alamo BP, he found the front glass broken out and tobacco products stolen. Entry was made by a male subject dressed in dark clothing, mask and gloves.
With video surveillance and further investigation, Brian Hagins, of Dyersburg, was arrested and charged with burglary, felony vandalism and theft for the Alamo BP incident. He is also facing charges of attempted burglary and vandalism for the Tobacco Shack incident.
Hagins is awaiting arraignment and bond setting in the Crockett County Jail.
This remains an open joint investigation by APD and the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department with an additional arrest pending.
In cases where the department requests the communities help, such as identifying someone in video surveillance like this one, informants information will remain confidential.
