Unemployment in Crockett County decreased in February, according to data released by the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development.
The county’s jobless rate fell to 3.7%, down from 4.1% in January. While the drop reflects a positive trend from the previous month, the February rate remains higher than the same period last year, when unemployment stood at 2.8%.
Statewide, unemployment rates declined in 88 of Tennessee’s 95 counties. Four counties recorded the state’s lowest jobless rates, with Williamson County leading at 2.6%. The highest rate was reported in Cocke County at 6.6%.
Overall, 84 counties across the state had unemployment rates below 5% in February. The state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate held steady at 3.7% for the sixth consecutive month, while the national rate stood at 4.1%.
County-level unemployment rates are not seasonally adjusted, meaning they do not account for regular seasonal patterns in employment.
