Bills Introduced in U.S. House of Representatives in January

Below are the current bills introduced into the U.S. House of Representatives. If passed, these bills would move to the Senate then to President Donald Trump’s desk for his signature before becoming law. Current proposals include items related to immigration, healthcare, education, firearms, slavery, voting, social media, crimes, housing, employment, businesses, veterans, animals, taxes, The Constitution and the President. IMMIGRATION:

H.R.32 - To provide that sanctuary jurisdictions that provide benefits to aliens who are present in the United States without lawful status under the immigration laws are ineligible for Federal funds intended to benefit such aliens.

H.R.35 - To impose criminal and immigration penalties for intentionally fleeing a pursuing Federal officer while operating a motor vehicle.

H.R.47 - To establish the Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement Office within the Department of Homeland Security.

H.R.64 - To require the Secretary of Homeland Security to detain any alien who is unlawfully present in the United States and is arrested for certain criminal offenses.

H.R.116 - To close loopholes in the immigration laws that serve as incentives to aliens to attempt to enter the United States unlawfully.

H.R.163 - To immediately resume construction of the border wall system along the international border between the United States and Mexico to secure the border, enforce the rule of law, and expend appropriated funds as mandated by Congress.

H.R.263 -To prohibit the intentional hindering of immigration, border, and customs controls, and for other purposes.

H.R.318 -To authorize the Secretary of Homeland Security to suspend the entry of aliens

H.R.670 -To amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to provide for a minimum number of refugees who may be admitted in any fiscal year after fiscal year 2026, and for other purposes.

S.200 -A bill to amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to modify the eligibility requirements for asylum.

HEALTHCARE:

H.R.48 - To amend the Public Health Service Act to ensure that women seeking an abortion receive an ultrasound and the opportunity to review the ultrasound before giving informed consent to receive an abortion.

H.R.78 - To amend title 18, United States Code, to prohibit certain abortion procedures.

H.R.79 - To nullify certain Executive orders regarding COVID-19 vaccine mandates and to prohibit the Secretary of Labor from issuing a rule mandating vaccination against COVID-19, and for other purposes.

H.R.81 - To prohibit the imposition of mask mandates on public transportation.

H.R.87 - To amend the Public Health Service Act to prohibit the Secretary of Health and Human Services from placing any vaccine for COVID-19 on the child and adolescent immunization schedule unless the Secretary has posted on the public website of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention all clinical data in the possession of the Department of Health and Human Services relating to the safety and efficacy of such vaccine, and for other purposes.

H.R.89 - To repeal the authority of the Food and Drug Administration to require that drugs be dispensed only upon prescription.

H.R.114 - To repeal the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010.

H.R.120 - To prohibit COVID19 vaccination mandates.

H.R.271 -To provide for a moratorium on Federal funding to Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Inc.

H.R.272 -To prohibit Federal funding to entities that do not certify the entities will not perform, or provide any funding to any other entity that performs, an abortion.

H.R.500 -To amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to remove the exclusion of Medicare coverage for hearing aids and examinations therefor, and for other purposes.

H.R.589 -To amend title 18, United States Code, to repeal prohibitions relating to freedom of access to clinic entrances, and for other purposes.

H.R.627 -To amend title XIX of the Social Security Act and Public Health Service Act to improve the reporting of abortion data to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

H.R.629 -To amend title 18, United States Code, to prohibit chemical abortions, and for other purposes.

H.R.682 -To amend title 18, United States Code, to prohibit abortion in cases where a fetal heartbeat is detectable.

H.R.685 -To amend the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act to prohibit the approval of new abortion drugs, to prohibit investigational use exemptions for abortion drugs, and to impose additional regulatory requirements with respect to previously approved abortion drugs

H.R.719 -To amend title XI of the Social Security Act to limit demoH.R.722 — 119th Congress (2025-2026)To implement equal protection under the 14th article of amendment to the Constitution for the right to life of each born and preborn human preconstruction projects related to abortion under Medicaid and CHIP.

S.6 -Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act

S.230 -A bill to amend part D of title IV of the Social Security Act to ensure that child support for unborn children is collected and distributed under the child support enforcement program, and for other purposes.

H.Res.7 -Recognizing the importance of access to comprehensive, high-quality, life-affirming medical care for women of all ages. Women of all ages should have access to comprehensive, convenient, compassionate, life-affirming, high-quality medical services; all women should feel empowered and equipped with the knowledge to listen to their body and advocate for their health; health care for women should emphasize the whole woman, including her physical, mental, and spiritual wellness; health care for women should also address the needs of men, families, and communities as they relate to women’s health care; health care centers should include access to social services that empower women to care for their health; Pro Women’s Healthcare Centers is a consortium of centers that serves as an example of the high-quality, comprehensive, life-affirming care that women deserve; every Pro Women’s Healthcare Center certified clinic has a licensed medical professional; every Pro Women’s Healthcare Center offers comprehensive health services, including well-woman exams, sexually transmitted disease testing and treatment, breast exams, pregnancy testing, prenatal and pregnancy care, miscarriage support, fertility awareness instruction, infertility consultation, and onsite or nearby, direct referrals for material, emotional, practical, and spiritual resources; and Pro Women’s Healthcare Centers has certified health care centers nationwide that meet its standards for high-quality, life-affirming care and continue to do so

EDUCATION:

H.R.83 - To amend part A of title I of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 to allow States, in accordance with State law, to let Federal funds for the education of disadvantaged children follow low-income children to the public school, charter school, accredited private school, or supplemental educational service program they attend, and for other purposes.

H.R.84 - To expand opportunity for Native American children through additional options in education, and for other purposes.

H.R.305 -To authorize the Secretary of Education to carry out a grant program to assist local educational agencies with ensuring that each elementary and secondary school has at least one registered nurse on staff.

H.R.369 -To provide for the elimination of the Department of Education

H.R.370 -To prohibit the provision of Federal funds to any State or local educational agency that denies or prevents participation in constitutionally protected prayer in schools

H.R.406 -To amend the Higher Education Act of 1965 to require institutions of higher education, as a condition of participation in programs under title IV of such Act, to include a prohibition of antisemitic conduct in all documents relating to student or employee conduct.

H.R.414 -To require the Secretary of Homeland Security to strengthen student visa background checks and improve the monitoring of foreign students in the United States.

H.R.423 -To amend title 11 of the United States Code to modify the dischargeability of debts for certain educational payments and loans.

H.R.632 -To prohibit the award of Federal funds to an institution of higher education that hosts or is affiliated with a student-based service site that provides abortion drugs or abortions to students of the institution or to employees of the institution or site

H.R.713 -To impose a financial penalty on certain institutions of higher education with high percentages of students who default or make insufficient payments on Federal student loans, and for other purposes.

S.227 -A bill to prohibit the use of certain American History and Civics Education program funds for curriculum, or teaching or counseling, that promotes or compels a divisive concept under the priorities noticed in the proposed rule submitted by the Department of Education relating to Proposed Priorities-American History and Civics Education.

FIREARMS & OTHER WEAPONS:

H.R.38 - To amend title 18, United States Code, to provide a means by which nonresidents of a State whose residents may carry concealed firearms may also do so in the State.

H.R.45 - To amend title 41, United States Code, to prohibit the Federal Government from entering into contracts with an entity that discriminates against the firearm and ammunition industry, and for other purposes.

H.R.60 - To protect the right of law-abiding citizens to transport knives interstate, notwithstanding a patchwork of State and local prohibitions that burden citizens.

H.R.129 - To abolish the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

H.R.335 -To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to repeal the National Firearms Act.

H.R.404 -To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to remove silencers from the definition of firearms

SLAVERY:

H.R.40 - To address the fundamental injustice, cruelty, brutality, and inhumanity of slavery in the United States and the 13 American colonies between 1619 and 1865 and to establish a commission to study and consider a national apology and proposal for reparations for the institution of slavery, its subsequent de jure and de facto racial and economic discrimination against African Americans, and the impact of these forces on living African Americans, to make recommendations to the Congress on appropriate remedies, and for other purposes.

VOTING:

H.R.22 - To amend the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 to require proof of United States citizenship to register an individual to vote in elections for Federal office, and for other purposes.

H.R.55 - To repeal the National Voter Registration Act of 1993.

H.R.154 - To establish Election Day as a Federal holiday.

H.R.707 -To amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to make unlawful voting an aggravated felony.

H.J.Res.16 -Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States extending the right to vote to citizens sixteen years of age or older.

SOCIAL MEDIA:

S.66 -A bill to amend title 5, United States Code, to instruct Inspectors General to report to Congress on social media communications.

CRIMES:

H.R.27 - HALT Fentanyl Act. To amend the Controlled Substances Act with respect to the scheduling of fentanyl-related substances.

H.R.31 - To make the assault of a law enforcement officer a deportable offense.

H.R.128 - To require the Assistant Secretary for the Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Office of the Department of Homeland Security to treat illicit fentanyl as a weapon of mass destruction.

H.R.393 -To increase penalties for crimes against children.

H.R.394 -To increase penalties for child pornography.

H.R.395 -To require mandatory minimums for sexual abuse.

HOUSING:

H.R.68 - To authorize funds to prevent housing discrimination through the use of nationwide testing, to increase funds for the Fair Housing Initiatives Program, and for other purposes.

H.R.206 - To amend the Fair Housing Act to prohibit discrimination based on use of section 8 vouchers.

EMPLOYMENT/BUSINESSES:

H.R.85 - To amend the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 to allow the pooling of tips among all employees, and for other purposes.

H.R.119 - To prohibit any entity that receives Federal funds from the COVID relief packages from mandating employees receive a COVID19 vaccine, and for other purposes.

H.R.122 - To amend the Fair Labor Standards Act to provide for the calculation of the minimum wage based on the Federal supplemental poverty threshold for a renter family of 4, with 2 children under the age of 18, as determined by the Bureau of the Census.

H.R.425 -To repeal the Corporate Transparency Act.

VETERANS:

H.R.71 - To direct the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to carry out a pilot program to improve the ability of veterans to access medical care in medical facilities of the Department of Veterans Affairs and in the community by providing the veterans the ability to choose health care providers.

H.R.72 - To amend title 38, United States Code, to direct the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to furnish hyperbaric oxygen therapy to veterans with traumatic brain injury or post-traumatic stress disorder.

H.R.109 - To require the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to formally recognize caregivers of veterans, notify veterans and caregivers of clinical determinations relating to eligibility for caregiver programs, and temporarily extend benefits for veterans who are determined ineligible for the family caregiver program, and for other purposes.

H.R.438 -To authorize the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to make grants to State and local entities to carry out peer-to-peer mental health programs

ANIMALS:

H.R.102 - To amend the Endangered Species Act of 1973 to prevent a species that is not native to the United States from being listed as an endangered species or a threatened species, to prohibit certain types of financial assistance.

TAXES:

H.R.25 - To promote freedom, fairness, and economic opportunity by repealing the income tax and other taxes, abolishing the Internal Revenue Service, and enacting a national sales tax to be administered primarily by the States.

H.R.7 - No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act of 2025. No funds authorized or appropriated by Federal law, and none of the funds in any trust fund to which funds are authorized or appropriated by Federal law, shall be expended for any abortion. None of the funds authorized or appropriated by Federal law, and none of the funds in any trust fund to which funds are authorized or appropriated by Federal law, shall be expended for health benefits coverage that includes coverage of abortion.

H.R.73 - To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to provide that amounts paid for an abortion are not taken into account for purposes of the deduction for medical expenses.

H.R.405 -To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to exclude overtime compensation from gross income for purposes of the income tax

CONSTITUTION:

H.J.Res.1 -Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to require that the Supreme Court of the United States be composed of nine justices.

H.J.Res.13 -Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States limiting the pardon power of the President.

H.J.Res.14 -Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the sixteenth article of amendment.

H.Res.50 -Recognizing that article I, section 10 of the United States Constitution explicitly reserves to the States the sovereign power to repel an invasion and defend their citizenry from the overwhelming and "imminent danger" posed by paramilitary, narco-terrorist cartels, terrorists and criminal actors who seized control of our southern border.

PRESIDENT:

H.J.Res.29 -Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to provide that no person shall be elected to the office of the President more than three times.

H.Res.24 -Expunging the December 18, 2019, impeachment of President Donald John Trump.

H.Res.25 -Expunging the January 13, 2021, impeachment of President Donald John Trump.

H.Res.59 -Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that the sermon given by the Right Reverend Mariann Edgar Budde at the National Prayer Service on January 21st, 2025, at the National Cathedral was a display of political activism and condemning its distorted message.

S.256 -A bill to require the President to publish a statement of reasons for pardons

S.Con.Res.2 -A concurrent resolution to provide for the counting on January 6, 2025, of the electoral votes for President and Vice President of the United States.

OTHER:

H.R.139 - To make daylight savings time permanent.

H.R.212 - To direct the Architect of the Capitol to design and install in the United States Capitol an exhibit that depicts the attack on the Capitol that occurred on January 6, 2021, and for other purposes.

H.R.342 -To require that the flag of the United States of America be flown at its highest peak on Inauguration Day.

H.R.691 -To designate the Washington Dulles International Airport in Virginia as the "Donald J. Trump International Airport".

H.Res.34 -Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that the Federal Government should drop all charges against Edward Snowden.

S.78 - bill to require certain agencies to develop plans for internal control in the event of an emergency or crisis

S.157 -A bill to authorize certain States to take certain actions on certain Federal land to secure an international border of the United States, and for other purposes.
