20 vehicles in Bells among the 50 burglarized in Crockett County

The City of Bells experienced over 20 reported auto burglaries in the early morning of Friday, March 13.

This rash of burglaries comes after approximately 30 vehicles were burglarized across the county since the weekend including Maury City and Alamo.

Vehicles on College Street, Sunset Circle, Misty Lane and Jaycee Drive were reported effected by the burglaries.These vehicles were left unlocked and two vehicles reported items stolen.

One vehicle had $8 in cash taken and another had a 1911/22 handgun, binoculars and $40 in cash taken.

"All cases are jointly being investigated by the Bells Police Department , Crockett County Sheriff's Department, Alamo Police Department and Maury City Police Department due to the rash of burglarized vehicle in this county," said Bells Assistant Police Chief Kevin Ligon. "Please don't leave valuables in your vehicles and always secure your vehicle."
