Since the weekend, nearly 30 vehicles have been burglarized in Crockett County.

Six vehicles were reported as burglarized in Maury City over the weekend, with a weapon, winning lottery ticket and GPS being the only items reported missing.

An additional vehicle was reported as burglarized on Sunday, March 8, in Alamo. Items missing from the vehicle included a box of car kit items such as jumper cables and engine oil.

These items were located the next day as a neighbor located items not belonging to them in their yard.

On Tuesday, March 10 at approximately 4:30 a.m., multiple reports of vehicle burglaries were made in the City of Alamo and the county.

At this time, 18 vehicles in 13 locations around Rainbow Circle and Cavalier Drive have been reported as burglaries with no items missing from within the vehicles.

Two other vehicle burglaries were reported in this same area near the city limits.

While nothing has been reported missing from the vehicles in the rash of auto burglaries Tuesday morning, the vehicles had been ransacked.

According to Crockett County Sheriff Troy Klyce, there was no evidence of forced entry, which indicates that most vehicles were unlocked.

“Please lock your car so if a door is jammed, the alarm will sound,” said Klyce. “If you have video cameras and are located in or around Rainbow Circle, please call the sheriff’s office or Alamo Police Department.”

“Please lock your doors and do not leave items of value, medications or weapons in your vehicle,” said Interim Alamo Chief of Police Donelda Clayton. “If your vehicle has been burglarized, please report it. In the event that nothing is missing, we still need to know.”

Anyone with information may contact the Crockett County Sheriffs’ Department at 731-696-2104 or Alamo Police Department at 731-696-4483.
