The Bells Police Department is in search of two suspects following an armed robbery attempt Thursday, November 26.
Two male suspects are wanted for attempted robbery and aggravated assault after they entered the Dollar General store, located at 12993 Highway 79 in Bells, around 9 p.m. and assaulted the cashier with a weapon while demanding money.
The suspects, dressed in all black with masks over their faces, ordered all customers to go to the back of the store during the attempted robbery.
The two suspects fled the scene by foot with no merchandise or money attained during the attempted robbery.
According to Assistant Police Chief Kevin Ligon, the cashier had minor injuries and none of the customers in the store were injured.
With the assistance of a Gibson County Sheriffs’ Department tracking dog, multiple pieces of evidence that could help identify the suspects have been collected.
The Crockett County Sheriffs’ Department, Alamo Police Department, Gadsden Police Department, Gibson County Sheriffs’ Department and the Tennessee Highway Patrol assisted Bells Police Department during the investigation and search for the suspects.
