Mary Ruth Baker was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world peacefully on November 13, 2022 at the age of 88. Mary lived a full and happy life, always willing to serve the Lord and give of herself to others in any way she could.
She was born to Tom and Dorothy Reece on July 15, 1934. After graduating from Crockett High School, Mary soon married the love of her life, Bobby Baker. They had one daughter, Amanda Turner (Jeff), and three grandsons, Matthew, Cameron, and Colton. They were the apple of her eye! She was truly a “hands-on” grandmother, spending time with the boys whenever possible.
Mary loved spending time in the kitchen creating delicious meals, including her famous Coconut Cake. She hosted many gatherings for family and friends leaving wonderful memories for everyone. Mary and Bob also enjoyed volunteering in their church. They were youth leaders who traveled with the youth choir and puppet ministry named The Expressions. Mary loved singing in the adult choir at church and with her friends and family whenever possible. Most functions at her home included gathering around the piano to laugh and sing.
Mary Baker is preceded in death by parents, Thomas and Dorothy Reece, husband of 70 years, Bobby Baker, brother Tommy Ray Reece who died at birth, and sister, Deborah Riddick. She is survived by daughter Mandy Turner (Jeff), Grandsons, Matthew, Cameron and Colton, Sister, Kathryn Palmer, and a large extended family.
A funeral service is scheduled for Sunday, November 20, 2022 with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm and funeral to follow at 2:00 pm. Memphis Funeral Home
