Lloyd Nolen Johnson peacefully transitioned to his heavenly home on Saturday, December 26, 2020 with his family by his side.

Lloyd was born on July 18, 1938 in Maury City to Blondell Tatum. He was employed with the Jetton Service Station as a mechanic for many years. He later worked and retired from the Trunkline Gas Co. for over 20 years.

On November 10, 1957 he married Doris Jacox.


As a member of New First Baptist Church, he served as an usher at a young age, and later in life he served as a Church Trustee and Sunday School Teacher.

He served as Maury City Fire Chief beginning in April 27, 1987 for 12 years and four months. On August 31, 1998, he became an auxiliary police officer for the town of Maury City, serving 14 years and four months. He resigned on Janury 16, 2013. He continued to be a service to Crockett County as a member of the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, 911 Board of Directors, Planning Commission, and NAACP treasure.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his sons: Bernard Johnson, Frankie Johnson; siblings Frankie Dell Hardville, Alvoid Johnson; and mother Blondell Tatum.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Johnson; children Floyd Johnson, Glynis Gause; siblings Lucille Edwards, Teresa Little (Gerrel), Clinton Tatum; grandchildren, Kiuanna Haynes, James Gause; great grandson, Preston Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews and other beloved family, friends and extended family.

Thompson Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements, which are incomplete at this time.
