Kelvin Lynn “Bubba” Turner passed away peacefully, Friday, March 4, 2022, at the Alamo Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Alamo, TN. He was born September 1, 1972, in Humboldt, TN, to the late Thelma Jean Miller. Bubba worked more than 20 years, for Reddy Ice, delivering ice and fixing ice machines and other equipment. He would still be working there today if he hadn’t become ill and lost his hard-fought battle with cancer. Even though he was very sick and in pain Bubba managed to stay true to himself until the very end. He kept his strong will and determination, and his sense of humor even on the darkest days of his illness. He was a gentle giant. His entire life, Bubba, put the needs of others before his own. If he were still with us today, he would be thinking about what he could do or say to brighten the day for his friends and family. Bubba fought his bout with cancer with grace and dignity, and a smile on his face, until he had no strength left to continue. Shortly, before he passed, Bubba, told his family that he was tired and he was ready to leave this world, to begin his eternal life in Heaven. He was full of hope and was anxious to be reunited with his mother, and all of those he loved that had passed away before him. Bubba’s family would like to give special thanks to: The Kirkland’s Cancer Center for their compassionate care during his treatment; to Neighbors Offering Assistance and Hope (NOAH) for their contributions to his medical care and treatments; to The Alamo Nursing and Rehab Center staff and Avalon Hospice, for the love and dedicated care that was shown to Bubba and their family during his stay there; to Pond Creek Methodist Church, for all of the love and support given to Bubba and his family, and for all the prayers offered up on his behalf; to Ronk Funeral Home for helping them put together a Celebration of Bubba’s life that would honor him, and his memory.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory a sister, Linda Chipman, and husband Berl, and his favorite nephew, Joshua Tatum.
Funeral Services for Bubba were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 8, 2022, in the chapel of Ronk Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Oakview Memorial Gardens, on Highway 412, in Alamo, TN. Visitation for family and friends was held from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Monday, March 7, 2022, at Ronk Funeral Home.
Pallbearers for the service were Billy Joe King, Joshua Tatum, Dale Tatum, David Whittemore, Kenneth Whittemore, and Brandon Parks. Honorary Pallbearers are James Whittemore, Ed Latham, Blake Kelch, and Tim Martin.
