Harry Thomas Allen, 73, passed away at his home on September 13, 2020. He was born on March 14, 1947 to his parents, Clarence Clifford Allen and Harriett Thomas Allen. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gayle Allen of San Antonio, Texas; and grandson, Fulton Ford.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Kathy Allen; daughters, Ashley Ford (Josh) of Walnut Grove, Sarah McGehee (Casey) of Gadsden; and grandchildren, Weston Ford, Conley Ford, Mack McGehee, Oakley Ford, Mabry Ford, and Cooper McGehee.

Mr. Tommy was a lifelong member of Alamo First UMC. He operated several businesses in Crockett County including Q- Mart, Allen’s Catering, Dairy Queen, Pizza Pro, Allen’s BBQ, Rental Houses, and Storage Units. He loved feeding the people of Crockett County and donated food to families in need.

He also counseled men and women in drug recovery and was very active in AA. He and his family recently celebrated his 8 years of sobriety.

For anyone wishing to honor his legacy, the family is asking that donations be made to Aspell Recovery, a drug rehabilitation facility in Jackson or to the Alamo First United Methodist Church to help fund the “Blessing Box”. The “Blessing Box” is a ministry that helps feed the hungry.

There are no funeral arrangements at this time.
