Governor Bill Lee toured Crockett County High School (CCHS) and visited many of the Career and Technical Education (CTE) classrooms. CCHS was just one of many stops throughout Tennessee as Governor Lee explored classrooms and school programs that offer value to students.
During his visit at the school, he observed students working in the greenhouse, woodshop class, automotive and manufacturing.
“We are trying to find models that will work as we expand vocational and technical all over the state of Tennessee,” said Governor Lee.
Students presented Governor Lee with gifts including décor made by woodshop students, a fire pit made by manufacturing students and baked goods from the culinary students.
“I was proud of our administration, faculty and staff, and especially our students,” said Director of Crockett County Schools Phillip Pratt.
“Our students led the visit and interacted with Governor Lee and his staff in every part of the tour. Crockett County’s student council Future Farmers of America (FFA), Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA), and CTE classes represented our school system extremely well in every part of the visit. Governor Lee and his staff were very complimentary of our students, faculty and all the great work that is going on at CCHS. Thanks to everyone for a great afternoon that left a very positive impression on the Governor. Each of you made me proud to be a small part of what we are accomplishing in our school system. Great job, keep up the good work and take time to realize you are making a difference in the lives of our students every day.”
