During morning announcements on Tuesday, October 22, Gadsden Elementary School students started their day with some excitement as awards were given to students for helping fundraise for new playground equipment.
Students sold 1180 Sonic cards to help revitalize their playground and replace old equipment.
The student body raised approximately $4,800 for their playground improvements and Humboldt Sonic Manager, Logan Criswell, said the school sold the most cards ever out of their 30 locations.
The top three sellers were awarded for their efforts.
Third place seller, Layla Phillips, is a first grader who sold 70 cards and received a backpack of Sonic prizes, second place seller, Ryder Williams, is a third grader who sold 73 cards and received a backpack of Sonic prizes and $15 and the first place seller, Reyse Rodgers, a kindergarten student sold 80 cards and received a backpack of Sonic prizes and $20.
Criswell not only came baring gifts for the top three winners but also distributed coupons for the students of Gadsden Elementary.
