Friendship rape victim in stable condition

The Crockett County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an especially aggravated rape, following a welfare check Monday, January 27.

Crockett County deputies responded to a call related to a welfare check on Edwards Road in Friendship at 8:47 p.m.

Officers discovered a female victim who had been severely assaulted and was transported by ambulance to Jackson Madison County Hospital.

The case is an ongoing investigation of especially aggravated rape, with the assistance of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

The victim is in stable condition at this time.

According to Crockett County Sheriff, Troy Klyce, no additional information is available at this time as the investigation is on going.
