Dotty Ree Williams Harber, 92 died on Thursday October 20, 2022. She was born on June 28, 1930, in Nance, TN. and was one of 13 children of the late Mr. & Mrs. Willis (Dovie) Williams. She is survived by her son Austin Harber of Tunica, MS, her granddaughter Christy Jo Harber of Kentucky, her sister Ruth Williams Wiechert of Shelton, WA and her many nieces and nephews that loved her and attempted to care for her in the last years of her life.
She was preceded in death by her son, John Harber, and her beloved husband Joe Frank Harber. John died suddenly in 1989 and was followed in death by his father Joe Frank just 2 weeks later. Dotty was devastated and heart broken but tried her best to continue to live her life with love for her family.
Dotty and Joe Frank were members of First Christian Church of Crockett Mills. She and Joe Frank lived in Crockett Mills their entire lives together until his death and Dotty moved to Humboldt, TN. But Alamo and Crockett Mills is where she left her heart and where she can now return in peace.
Dotty graduated from Hamlett-Robertson High School in Crockett Mills and later worked at Peoples Bank of Alamo on the town square until she became the Postmaster of the Crockett Mills Post Office. Dotty was known for her love of antiques and scouting the flea markets and yard sales for treasures for her home.
She was preceded in death by her 4 brothers; Phillip Williams, L.D. Williams, Wilson Williams, Rubert Williams and 7 of her sisters; Louise Clark, Montra Fletcher, Glenora Harber, Norma Kee, Jeanette Harrington, Jennie Lee Young, and Joyce Krause.
Dotty Harber was buried on October 21, 2022 at Crockett Mills Cemetery in a private ceremony. Her nieces and nephews are holding a private memorial service for their Aunt Dotty at her graveside and celebrating her life with a family dinner that we know she would have loved.
