Crockett County High School football has been cancelled for Friday, October 16 and 23 due to COVID-19 quarantine rules and contact exposure rules.
These games will not be rescheduled.
Haywood County and University School of Jackson (USJ) will be credited a win for the cancelled games but Crockett County will not receive an additional loss to their record.
“I hate it for the players,” said Coach Kevin Ward. “They had a good week of practice and I felt like we were ready to play. Hopefully we can see them in the playoffs. I am surprised that this thing hasn’t hit sooner. We are blessed that people are taking it serious and are doing things necessary to help give our kids a chance to play.”
Cavaliers will be 4-3 going into the Friday, October 30 contest against Dyersburg High School at Cavalier Stadium. “Hopefully we will all be ready to go week 11 vs. Dyersburg,” said Ward.
