Mrs. Brenda Kaye Griggs, of Bells, TN, entered her heavenly home, Friday, November 11, 2022, in Jackson, TN at the age of 81. Born on January 18, 1941, at Webb Williamson Hospital, in Jackson, TN, Mrs. Brenda was the daughter of Dalton Odell Stephens and Georgia Lee Ferguson Stephens. She attended Gadsden School from 1946-1959, and while there she was on the junior high basketball team. She worked at Century Electric and the Hosiery Mill in Humboldt, TN before retiring from Porter Cable in 2003. Mrs. Brenda was saved and baptized, at age 13, in the Gadsden Baptist Church and was a faithful member of the Gadsden United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Gadsden Ruritan Club. Mrs. Brenda lived her life for her family and for God in all that she did. Some of her best advice to those she loved was to always be thankful for what you have, treat others in a way you wish to be treated, be yourself always no matter the situation, and always trust in God to lead you and be with you during pain and struggles in this life.
Mrs. Brenda’s loved ones who have passed before her are husband, James Griggs; father, Dalton Odell Stephens; mother, Georgia Lee Stephens; uncle, Fred Ferguson.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa K. Terry (Randy) of Germantown, TN; granddaughter, Ashley Heath (Marcus) of Memphis, TN; great grandchildren, Michael Heath, Madison Heath, Joshua Heath, and Jesse Heath; She is also survived by her beloved Aunt, Maude Ferguson, and cousin, Jo Beth Hastings (Michael).
A Celebration of Mrs. Brenda’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at Gadsden United Methodist Church with Colton Jones officiating. Immediately following the services there will be a brief committal in the Gadsden Cemetery.
Mrs. Brenda’s family will receive visitors the morning of the service from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at the Methodist Church.
It was Mrs. Brenda’s wish that memorials or donations, in her honor, be made to the youth group at Gadsden United Methodist Church.
